Jitender Singh Tomar may be expelled from AAP in Fake degree case

NEW DELHI: Former Delhi law minister Jitender Singh Tomar, under the scanner for a forged degree, may find himself out of Aam Aadmi Party very soon.

Aam Aadmi Party, which had been backing Tomar so far, seems reluctant to speak in his defence anymore in light of the recent revelations during investigations into his degree. Sources said that his case was likely to be referred to the party Lokpal who will take a final decision.

"His LLB degree is not a problem but there are definitely doubts about his BSc degree. CM Arvind Kejriwal is also upset, especially since Tomar had made a representation to him and assured him that his papers were in order. So far there were just allegations against him but now he seems unable to prove anything," said sources.

A senior party member said that this should be a warning to other members of the party that no deceit would be tolerated.

In the case of Commando Surinder Singh, whose degree has also been challenged, sources said that the matter was in court and he deserved the benefit of doubt but if there was any adverse comment in the case, he too may find himself in trouble.
